PAST PROJECTS


Surface Operational Research & Evaluation Vehicle (SOREV)
Approximate Dimensions: 18ft W x 26ft H x 217ft L ; Weight: 95,000 lbs

Requirement:

  • Develop a fully operational aircraft taxi simulator that replicates the size and landing gear configuration of Boeing’s High Speed Transport (HST) Aircraft
  • Vehicle must also replicate the expected responses of the HST flight control and power systems.

Solution:

  • Optimize structural design to ensure a light, rigid structure to prevent destructive structural oscillations.
  • Use Program Logic Controller computer to monitor and control all flight control systems.
  • Program system to watchdog any oscillation or tip-over problems during high speed turns.
  • Utilize the CATIA CAD system to develop and evaluate design, weights and clearances.
